WHO WE ARE?

Lavado Psychological Services provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in Miami.

Our team specializes in ADHD evaluations, autism spectrum disorder assessments, psychoeducational testing, learning disorders, PTSD evaluations, and diagnostic clarification using evidence-based assessment methods.

Dr. Megan Lavado, Psy.D.

Owner & Clinical Director

Dr. Megan Lavado, Psy.D., owner and clinical director of Lavado Psychological Services, is a clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment of autism, ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability, mood disorders, and a range of psychiatric disorders. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Lavado provides accurate clinical diagnoses and detailed recommendations to help individuals reach their highest potential.

Dr. Lavado received her bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and her Doctoral Degree from Albizu University, with a concentration in Neuropsychology.

She completed her internship at the Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami, where she gained extensive experience administering neuropsychological assessments and services to patients with complex physical, medical, and neurological disorders in both outpatient and post-acute inpatient rehabilitation settings.

Dr. Lavado completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Weston Psychological Associates, where she gained further proficiency administering psychological assessments to patients diagnosed with autism, ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability, among other medical and psychological disorders.

Her experiences incorporate a wide range of clinical settings, including positions as an emergency and assessment clinician, behavioral assistant, and mental health therapist for organizations such as Citrus Health Network, Dade Family Counseling, and Chrysalis Health.

Dr. Lavado is highly passionate about conducting evaluations for diagnostic clarity in order to provide guidance and support for clients and families and strives to continuously identify effective treatment, intervention, and accommodations.

Dr. Janeel Inda, Psy.D, BCBA

Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Board-Certified Behavior Analyst

Dr. Inda proudly serves children, adolescents, and young adults and is passionate about combining her specializations in behavior analysis and psychotherapy in order to best meet the needs of her clients and their families. Currently, Dr. Inda provides therapeutic services, emphasizing a welcoming and collaborative approach as well as psychological evaluations in order to provide diagnostic clarifications and accurate treatment recommendations.

Dr. Inda received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Albizu University in 2020 and has been working predominantly with children, adolescents, and families since 2008.

She completed her post-doctoral residency in the Citrus Health Network Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) and the Juvenile Addictions Receiving Facility (JARF), focusing on developing crisis de-escalation and stabilization skills while facilitating individual, group, and family therapy.

She fulfilled her clinical internship with the Miami Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD), where she gained additional experience working with children, parents, teachers, and school personnel in the Head Start program.

Dr. Inda worked extensively with the substance abuse population in individual and group inpatient settings.

She gained additional therapeutic experience with children, adolescents, and families while working in the Inpatient Crisis Unit and Intensive Outpatient Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (NCH).

She has worked with court-mandated cases including co-parenting and groups for adolescents.

Her experiences branch out to implementing psychological evaluations, particularly psycho-educational and developmental assessments.

Dr. Inda is also a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and has several years of experience working with children diagnosed with developmental and behavioral difficulties.

As a behavior analyst, she has had the opportunity to provide training to parents, teachers, and staff members on effective behavioral strategies and interventions and clinical supervision to Registered Behavioral Technicians.

Dr. Inda is an advocate for early and intensive intervention and strives to continuously provide families with empowerment and support throughout the process.

Dr. Ellen Kolomeyer, Ph.D., PMH-C

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Ellen Kolomeyer is a licensed clinical psychologist committed to helping individuals make sense of their life experiences through meaningful, comprehensive, and evidence-based assessments. She strives to create a highly attuned, reflective, and collaborative environment where individuals feel safe, supported, and welcomed to be themselves.

Dr. Kolomeyer earned her doctorate from the University of Central Florida and completed her predoctoral and postdoctoral training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Through her training, she gained extensive experience in developmental, psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational assessments.

Dr. Kolomeyer is committed to helping individuals make sense of their life experiences through meaningful, comprehensive, and evidence-based assessments.

She strives to create a highly attuned, reflective, and collaborative environment where individuals feel safe, supported, and welcomed to be themselves.

She is dedicated to providing individualized recommendations that help each person move forward with greater clarity, understanding, and confidence.

Dr. Hanny Vera, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Hanny Vera received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University. Throughout her clinical training and postdoctoral experience, she worked in community mental health and evaluation-focused settings serving children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and psychiatric concerns.

Her professional interests primarily focus on comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for adolescents and adults.

Dr. Vera has experience conducting evaluations for ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, mood and anxiety-related conditions, personality functioning, and diagnostic clarification.

She is passionate about helping individuals better understand their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning through evidence-based assessment and individualized recommendations.

During her practicum training, Dr. Vera completed clinical rotations at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Clementine Residential Treatment Center for eating disorders, and a private practice specializing in psychological evaluations.

She later completed her internship and postdoctoral training within community mental health agencies in Springfield and Worcester, Massachusetts, where she worked with individuals presenting with diverse clinical and developmental concerns across the lifespan.

Dr. Vera also completed additional postdoctoral training at a Miami-based private practice specializing in vocational and psychological evaluations.

Throughout her training, Dr. Vera conducted psychological, psychoeducational, and diagnostic evaluations integrating cognitive, academic, personality, adaptive, and behavioral assessment measures.

She also has experience providing individual therapy and collaborating with families, schools, medical providers, and multidisciplinary teams to support treatment planning and overall functioning.

Dr. Vera is dedicated to conducting evaluations that provide meaningful diagnostic clarity and practical guidance to help individuals succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

She values creating a thoughtful, supportive, and collaborative environment where patients feel understood throughout the evaluation process.

Dr. Nicole Chavez, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Nicole Chavez is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Chavez completed her clinical internship at Holston Children and Youth Services, where she provided assessment and therapy for children and families facing a range of psychological concerns, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), school-related difficulties, family issues, and social challenges.

She subsequently completed a fellowship at Jackson Behavioral Health, supporting medically complex pediatric patients admitted to the hospital who experienced adjustment difficulties related to medical diagnoses, procedures, or hospitalization.

During her fellowship, she also conducted psychological evaluations for children and adolescents preparing for organ transplants or presenting with other psychological disorders.

Dr. Chavez has more than ten years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at a specialized school for children on the autism spectrum, providing behavioral intervention and support tailored to neurodiverse populations.

In private practice, she has delivered individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and families presenting with ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, academic difficulties, and social concerns.

Dr. Chavez believes that establishing a strong rapport with clients is essential to the evaluation process. By fostering a comfortable and trusting environment, she helps clients feel at ease during assessments, which facilitates a more accurate understanding of their experiences and challenges.
